It's Hypol Time

Did You Know?

Australian families have been taking Hypol for nearly 100 years. Introduced in the early 1900's, it was Australia's first nutritional supplement for the prevention of colds, flu, bronchitis and other respiratory infections.
    • Before vitamins and antibiotics were so prevalent, Hypol was kept as a matter of course in most family's kitchen cupboards as a safeguard. The basic formula combined cod liver oil, Vitamins A and D and calcium. Modern research now confirms these as vital nutrients for general health and wellbeing.
    • Hypol was so popular in the 1920's and 30's, families knew when to take their daily dose because the radio would announce it was “Hypol time!”
    • Back in the early days, the cod liver oil used in Hypol was lower quality than today's and there were also less stringent preserving and bottling methods, which may account for the distinctive "fishy" taste many people remember.
    • The Vitamin D and Calcium in Hypol helps strengthen bones, teeth and nails, while Vitamin A is essential for healthy skin, eyes and hair.
